Info on the islands visited -
Dubrovnik - Visiting Dubrovnik for the first time or the hundredth, the sense of awe never fails to descend when you set eyes on the beauty of the old town. Indeed it’s hard to imagine anyone becoming jaded by the city’s marble streets, baroque buildings and the endless shimmer of the Adriatic, or failing to be inspired by a walk along the ancient city walls that protected a civilised, sophisticated republic for centuries. We spend 2 nights in Dubrovnik with time to explore this exotic city.
Mljet - One of the most seductive of all the Adriatic islands. Much of the island is covered by forests and the rest is dotted with fields, vineyards and small villages. The western tip contains Mljet National Park, where the lush vegetation, pine forests and spectacular saltwater lakes are exceptionally scenic. It’s an unspoilt oasis of tranquillity
Korcula - known for the medieval towers and walls fortifying its harbour.
Hvar - 13th-century walls, a hilltop fortress and a main square anchored by the Renaissance-era Hvar Cathedral. The island also features beaches like Dubovica and inland lavender fields. Wander along the main square, explore the sights on the winding stone streets, swim at the numerous beaches
Vis - The farthest inhabited island off the Croatian mainland. Vis’ lack of development has become its drawcard as a tourist destination. International and local travellers alike now flock to Vis, seeking authenticity, nature, gourmet delights and peace and quiet.is spent much of its recent history serving as a military base for the Yugoslav army, cut off from foreign visitors from the 1950s right up until 1989.
Trogir - is set within medieval walls on a tiny island, linked by bridges to both the mainland and to the far larger Čiovo island. On summer nights everyone gravitates to the wide seaside promenade, lined with bars, cafes and yachts – leaving the knotted maze-like marble streets gleaming mysteriously under old-fashioned streetlights.
The old town has retained many intact and beautiful buildings from its age of glory, between the 13th and 15th centuries. In 1997 its profuse collection of Romanesque and Renaissance buildings earned it World Heritage status.
'Linda' is an elegant 32 meter wooden gulet. Decked throughout in teak and mahogany, she is truly the Queen of her class. Imagine sunbathing on the enormous cushioned area on the foredeck or relaxing with a drink on the shady rear deck or just diving overboard for a refreshing dip on the Adriatic, not to mention the delicious Croatian cuisines cooked by Masterchef Jaska & wines served at meal times.
Croatia is an adventure that even Robinson Crusoe would have loved to enjoy, and it's just over 2 hours flight from London. This beautiful unspoilt Mediterranean destination offers an abundance of coastal and island towns with rich cultural heritage set in crystal clean waters of Adriatic.
With over 1700 kilometres of unspoilt coastline and 1185 island, only 66 inhabited, Croatia lands itself to a variety of holidays from enjoying beauty and tranquility of charming resorts like Dubrovnik, Makarska or Rovinj to taking to the water for sailing and numerous watersports.
The waters of Adriatic are clean, clear and inviting transculant blue- the sea was described by the late Jacques Cousteau as"one of the cleanest seas on earth" and it's beaches and marinas awarded a record number of eco Blue Flags.
