Sydney - TBA
Workshop is facilitated through Inspya Yoga Therapies, Gymea, South Sydney NSW
The workshop is face to face for 13.5 hours over 2 days. The information covered is most of the content in History and Philosophy of Yoga and Yogic Physiology. To enable us to cover all the content we ask you to pre-read and study the subjects so we can spend less time on content and more on discussion.
Yoga Philosophy is like a rosebush, the Yoga scriptures are its blossoms. The profound concepts and practices that these scriptures reveal are the leaves, which give life to the rosebush. These evolved in the ancient past, so to understand them we must trace back along the stems to the roots. The past, philosophy, physiology and practices are inseparable and do not stand in isolation. So to give justice to the parts we are attempting to give you the experience of the complete rose bush.
Subjects
The subject matter has been broken into 12 separate sections, to build the rosebush up from its roots, so when we read the scriptures we will understand the concepts which the writer assumes we already know.
The modules we have created to cover the material are:
-
History and Philosophy of Yoga
-
Vedanta
-
Nature of Reality
-
Karma and Reincarnation
-
Koshas
-
Sankhya
-
Gunas
-
Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras
-
Bhagavad Gita
-
Nadis
-
Chakras
-
Hatha Yoga Pradipika
For most of these 12 modules there are assembled handouts and provided references for you to study. Many of you will already be familiar with some of these concepts, and will be able to review them easily. I have prepared some questions both to guide your reading and for you to self-assess your understanding. Please print these handouts, arrange them into subjects, file them and bring them with you to the course, so we can discuss them.
There are also a few texts recommended to purchase and bring with you to the course. They are gems and will be great resources in your Yoga teaching career. In addition, I recommend a few more texts you can acquire if you wish to go beyond the level we will be covering in this course.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY
Wow. I'm not going to go into using words, because at this moment, I don't have many words for what unfolded for me over the weekend.
The weekend only confirmed for me that Yogalates lies within my heart, I know I am on this path with a purpose, despite not knowing that purpose. I am in the right place.
I cannot stop grinning Bec. Such a beautiful feeling
